Mondern Research Associates PLLC is an independent clinical research entity that specializes in dermatological disorders in DFW and surrounding areas.
Our team believes that evidence-based medicine combined with the best practices of modern science offers the most effective treatment for patients suffering from any type of skin condition. Because you deserve expertise, we continuously perform medical research while applying the latest advances to treat chronic skin conditions in a unique way.
Importance of Research
In order to diagnose and treat any medical condition, we must rely on research. Research tells us what does work and what doesn’t. It also tells us how to make diagnoses and find medications. Without research, we would not know how to improve our methods or perfect our treatment plans. Therefore, ongoing research is important—for us and for our patients.
We’d like to include you in our clinical trials if you’re interested. Just let us know if you want to take part.

Whether seeking the latest medical or rejuvenation advancements in dermatological care, Dr. Cather and her team at Mondern Research Associates are fully invested in our patients. They are constantly raising the standard for dermatology care by providing innovative, research-based therapies and actively seeking new treatments through clinical research.

Melodie Young is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing in Dallas since 1987 and is the former director of the Psoriasis Center at Baylor University Medical Center. She has served on psoriasis and phototherapy-related committees for the American Academy of Dermatology. Additionally, Melodie has 30 years of experience in clinical trials (therapies and medications) in atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, hair loss disorders, and skin infections as well as aesthetic products. She has been published in nursing and medical journals, and lucky for us she carries that knowledge and passion through everything she does here at Mondern Research Associates as well as in our private practice, Mindful Dermatology.
Melodie chose to work in dermatology because she loves making a difference in her patients’ lives. Melodie and her husband Gary have four almost-grown children and have lived in East Dallas since the early 90s. She grew up road-tripping and has been to 49 states and dozens of countries with more on her bucket list.
